So I got the photos to appear again. I had to move them from their respective folders on the internal and external SD card, then move them back. As soon as I moved the 29 images in Screenshot up one level to a new folder called "Screen", they showed up in the gallery. I then moved them all back to Screenshot and they appeared. I repeated for Camera and the Instagram folder (it saves the retouched photos as well as the originals) and all is well. This did actually save me a step of having to put a .nomedia file into all the other directories that had stuff I didn't want to see like music cover art and such, so it actually cleaned up my gallery pretty well.

Glad it is worked. Next time, you can back them up and wipe the internal and external storage.
