This is pissing me off! I complained to VZW about it and they sent me a certified like new phone. I’m having the same issue with this replacement. The smoke still hasn't settled on the nuclear bomb that Verizon's CFO Fran Shammo dropped yesterday, but there is now a new way to express your frustration. There is now an online petition to stop Verizon from eliminating unlimited data plans for their customers. It is over at Change.org and we have included a link below for you. One could easily make the argument that even if millions of people sign the petition, Verizon may still follow through with their plans to "axe" unlimited data plans, so what point would their be in signing it.

However, even if that is true, one of my favorite quotes from Wayne Gretzky, the famous hockey player, seems appropriate. He said, "100% of the shots you don't take, don't go in." To put it in perspective, you never know what might happen in life if you try, but you absolutely do know what will happen if you don't try... nothing! I'm considering purchasing a Razr Maxx but the most important feature for me is that contacts with multiple phone numbers/entries (for each contact) transfers/syncs as I make a lot of business calls while traveling. I wanted to see if anyone had real world experience with this feature as the Toyota compatible phone features makes it seem like this may not work on the Razr family (regular or Maxx). Almost all of my my contacts have two phone numbers in the contact and many have 3 numbers.

On the flip side, the Driod 4 shows up as this feature working, but I really wanted the longer battery life of the Razr Maxx.

Sure would like to start an eMail campaign, but I tried to figure out the CFO Francis Shammo's eMail addy without success.

Think they're being short sighted.
1) How many of the unlimited cutomers really use a lot of data ?
2) This was the last thing that kept me loyal.
3) Unlimited Data could be used as a way to distinguish them from the other carriers.
4) They already have throttling for the "abusers".

Likes: It's lighter and thinner. When it's in my front pocket, it much less noticeable.
The display is more colorful and detailed. Although with a white or light screen, it has a bluish tint when off axis.
4G is awesome, everything is faster.
Bluetooth is better, hooking up faster and less disconnects.
GPS is faster and more accurate.
The camera and camcorder are better.

Dislikes: I liked the skin of the X better. The flat black with a slight rubberized feel was easier to hold onto (although I dropped several times :() The
black chrome of the Razr looks okay but it's really slick. When I handle it, it never feels secure in my hands.(I know a case or skin would help)
I miss the power button on the top. Not only was I used to it, it was easier for me to use.
The volume buttons are too small and hard to find at times. I'm sure I'll get used to it.
I can't turn on the screen with the hard buttons, now touch buttons. If there is a way to change this please let me know. I think my power
button will wear out before anything else.

Anyway, I love the phone. My dislikes are mostly cosmetic and operational. My battery life seems as good or better than the X. I'm sure there is a lot more to come, just some early observations. Cheers!

I rooted my phone today, no problem installed a few apps such as titanium backup, es file explorer, wifi tether, root keeper. I installed rom manager but did not install bootstrap.

I decided the bloatware was getting on my nerves verizon put in the phone and did some research and found safestrap and felt that i was comfortable using that software.

I did as instructions stated created backups on both safe and unsafe mode. I then downloaded a ics leak stuck it in sd card as instructions stated tried to install per safestrap guide did all the little tedious steps to make sure I didn't mess anything up. as I started install it sayed error cannot install so I figure no worries.

I go back to backup/restore and do a restore in safe mode chose the safe restore it did its thing then i checked reboot now

phone rebooted to the menu I hit search button to skip the 10 second delaythen phone went blank it had 50 percent power 5 minutes before this but now phone is un responsive. In the dark the screen has green sploches on it. Not sure if this is the backlight or just the color im seeing from screen protector. I hold the power button down and press the power button im getting nothing, I plug charger up nothing, I plug phone up to usb port nothing.

On my Droid X, the speaker was on the back of the phone, near the bottom. Due to the tapered shape of the back of the device and the bump at the top for the camera, the phone did not sit flat on a table, which allowed sound to come out and sort of bounce off the table top, making it a little louder without turning the volume all the way up.

On the RAZR Maxx, the speaker is at the top of the device, next to the camera. When you lay the phone flat on a table, it sounds awful. I often listen to music on my phone via Slacker at work, and it just sits on my desk. I either lay it flat on the table or prop it up against my monitor. On the DX, it had the soft touch coating, so it could lean on something and not slide on the desk. The RAZR Maxx can't stand up because it doesn't have the soft touch coating, and I don't have a case on it.

Currently I have the phone laying flat on the table with the charging cord under the middle of the phone just below the bump in order to lift it off the table a little bit, which sounds MUCH better than when it is laying flat on the table.

Does anyone have any suggestions for how to listen to music that sounds decent without putting the phone face down on the desk? I am thinking of making some sort of small stand out of random office supplies (shouldn't be too hard with paper/binder clips) just to prop it up and cradle it so I can see the screen without picking up the device. I keep the screen on all the time when the device is charging, so when music is playing, Slacker is always in the foreground, and I can see my notifications, etc.
