[Rumor] Motorola Droid RAZR HD and RAZR MAXX HD Coming October

If you have been anxiously awaiting the release of the new Motorola Droid RAZR HD and/or the RAZR MAXX HD, then you may be both pleased and disappointed by this news. New rumors peg the launch date of the new Droid flagship device for October. The source of this info suggests that the phones are actually finished, but Motorola is purposefully holding off on releasing the device.

More than likely, they are trying to time the launch of the phone to help spread things out a bit more. This is in contrast to the way they spammed the market with far too money different devices last year. Also, additional speculation suggests that they are positioning the new device to release at a more competitive time compared to other manufacturers like the iPhone 5.

It's disappointing to see that we have to wait a couple months longer, but at least we are getting closer to an actual date. Also, it's good to see that Motorola is being wiser about market saturation with their devices.

Having just landed my Maxx (last Thursday) and absolutely loving it, the Maxx HD definitely has me interested. Only issue I have is, will it be worth it to lose unlimited data? I have an upgrade due Jan 2013 which, IMO, would be perfect timing with an October release (give some "growing pain" room ) ... paying full retail for a device just seems crazy. I'd have to really sit down and analyze my account and usage and do the math ...

Add a line to your plan, give it a 2 gig plan, and switch phones around. Then get a standard flip phone, put the flip on the new line, drop the data plan, then you have 2 smartphones .. sell the maxx or keep it for a spare.. or which ever.

From what I understand (and been told twice via VzW rep on chat) once you add a line that requires a data plan you have to move to share everything plans. I currently have the old family share 700 minute plan with 3 lines - I am the only one with a data plan. My wife has an upgrade that's good to use and I inquired about getting her a smartphone and I was told that being that she doesn't currently have a data plan that we would have to move to the share everything plan.

EDIT: I stand corrected - according to ANOTHER rep, this is not the case! Just goes to show you, you have to keep asking over and over again! These reps don't even know their own plans!!

I misread your question Aaron...I read what is the difference between the Razr HD and Maxx HD...not the current Razr and Razr HD - but I would agree with your thoughts on processor and screen.
