Safe Strap 3.12 - where is the Safe System enabled in TWRP version?

I have tried googling this and looking at hashcodes site, and I can't seem to find anything on how you enable the Safe System in the version of TWRP installed by Safe Strap 3.12 (that's what shows at the bottom when you run the app in Android.) So far, I have:

    1. Successfully rooted the M.
    2. successfully installed Safe Strap
    3. Made 2 backups of the Stock ROM to the external sdcard.
    4. Used Titanium Backup to debloat JB th way I wanted and installed the apps I want to use.
    5. Made another backup of the ROM after Step 4.
    5. Used RSD Lite version 6.1.5 to restore the M to complete JB Stock.
    6. Repeated steps 1 and 2, then restored the backup made in step 5.

Now that I'm comfortable with all of that I think I'm ready to continue, but I want to make sure I get this whole Safe System thing figured out first. Thank you in advance for any help you can provide.

If it works like SS on the og razr, when you boot into recovery, one of the buttons should be boot options. Picking this brings you to a screen that will show buttons for stock side and ROM slots. Picking a ROM slot will give you the option to set a data partition size, 1 gig should be plenty, unless you play a lot of big games. Once you create the ROM slot, you can then install a ROM to that slot from the TWRP install menu

so safe system is enabled when you create a rom slot and load/launch it from SS recovery? I thought it was a button you pushed. So would this work?
    1. Restore the phone to stock with rsd lite
    2. Root and install Safestrap.
    3. Boot into recovery and Create a slot.
    4. Restore one of my twrp backups to that new slot.

I don't believe you can restore a backup of the stock side to a ROM slot, and successfully boot it. Does not work on SS with the og razr. I have not had an opportunity to mess with, or try it on my HD yet
