It's no longer giving me word suggestions?
Not sure what happened, I didn't change any settings. At least I don't think I did.
Suggestions?

Lead me not into temptation.... cause I probably know about 20 different shortcuts![]()
Go to: Settings/Language and Input
You should see Swype listed under "Keyboard and Input Methods"
Press on the "Gear Icon" next to Swype and go to Preferences.
Under "Preferences" toward the bottom of the screen will be an option called "Word Suggestion"
Touch this to see if the "Word Suggestion" box is checked. If it is not checked then that is probably the problem.
You can get into the same screen more easily by getting to the keyboard and long pressing the Sype "S" in the lower left hand corner - then go to preferences, word suggestion, etc. I found this shortcut when I was trying to see if it were possible to disable the word option easily when you were in the keyboard. Doesn't appear to be that easy so I'm not certain how yours may have been changed.
If this doesn't work you may want to try re-installing.

That box was already checked.
So I switched keyboards, still no word suggestion, switched back to Swype as my default and now it's working again.
Not sure what happened? I'm using Swype right now to type this.
Glad it resolved itself. Sometimes things like this happen to me and its a puzzle as to what caused it.

A reboot will sometimes fix these issues.. toggling between the keyboards did the same thing..![]()

Sometimes even if a setting is checked, it won't actually work. I've noticed this a few times with Android in general. Most recently it was my setting to vibrate upon receiving SMS. It was checked, but was not vibrating. I unchecked it, and rechecked it, and it worked.
My wife used the Swype keyboard for a while and then she turned it off. She wanted to use it again but it doesn't come up. When I look in keyboard settings both swype and android are checked, but both are grayed out. My Razr is the same way but I don't like or use Swype. Both phones are running Jelly Bean and are up to date. Any ideas?
It's got to be one of the settings under input. I got frustrated using Swype some time ago and switched to the Google Keyboard

I checked all the settings and they seem to be ok. They are both checked and both grayed out on both phones. I was thinking about downloading it again but all I find is a trial....suggestions?
