No its not connected, say does not recongize usb device,no not using cable that came with phone, using one i used to root thunderbolt
If it was the cable it wouldnt beep & say it doesnt recongize device would it? So the cable should be good

Try using a different USB port on your computer. Give your computer a good restart as well. Are you connected to the internet? If so, get yourself a windows update and make sure everything is up to date on your computer. If you aren't connected to the internet, Windows won't be able to reach out and download the necessary drivers to run the phone.
PC is up to date & connected to internet, i will try cable that came with phone & different usb
I still get issues on my computer not recognizing my razr usually restarting my computer fixes this.
I had some issues getting my computer(s) to recognize my DR with this system...researched a little more and found this...
How to Root Droid Razr Android 2.3.5! | DroidRazrRoot.com
After trying this root technique, the process worked, rooted and had no issues.
Might give it a look if nothing else.
One difference seems to be the drivers link...it appears to be same Moto help drivers but after installation, I had the ADB MOT recognized without any prodding...go figure!
