I hate that LOCAL is gone from Google Maps. The wife and I loved to click local and find some restaurant we havent ate at before or in a long while and days we couldnt figure out what we wanted for supper and cooking wasnt an option. Also just being able to click Local find the location we wanted then Click Navigate was Awesome but alas its ALL gone. I think the Local app can be downloaded seperately but I heard not so good news about it. I have yet to try it. I also miss Latitiude I always liked looking on there to see my Children at school. :-) Does anyone know of an app that would kinda track your chaps like I could with Latitude? One that is on IOS and me on Android and will still work? Thanks Guys!

Did that it auto updates with in an hour. Someone mentioned on another post, use Titanium to save it backed up with the updates uninstalled, haven't tried that yet

I reverted back the old version but it is a hassle to update other apps now because I can't use the "update all" choice for fear of getting the new version of Google Maps. I wish they would put back the old functionality that I miss. Until that happens I will stick with the old version.

ToeJamm, I have done this before with update all, Click on Update All as All the apps start updating scroll down to Maps, click on Maps, once the app is pulled up there will be line on going across indicating MAPS is updating to the right of the line there is an X click the X and stop Only Maps from updating. All the other Apps will continue updating.
It's not the best fix but it beats updating them individually. I believe I was thinking about the Google play store Auto Updating, Sorry

I never updated mine. it seems to be okay. I reallly disliked the map/ "navigation" tie being broken. and yes you can go into playstore settings and disable the auto update feature/ s...

Let us know if this is a workaround for you...
