    Bluetooth Headset compatibility

Well... one would think that by now any bluetooth headset would "mostly" work with any device supporting bluetooth headsets. I recently picked up a Samsung HM3700 Mono + Stereo headset. This was a device I had wanted for a while since it could be used as a normal bluetooth headset, but convertible into a stereo headset. Unfortunately the one feature I was really hoping for does not work, and that is the stereo option.

I can connect and pair in mono mode just fine, but the stereo option never works and sound is never sent to the stereo ear buds. Though the Samsung does not work a Motorola 305 bluetooth stereo headset works great! Goes to show you that not all BT items are created equal.

I can't put total blame on the Samsung HM3700 as it doesn't even work with my Galaxy Nexus in stereo... so it's quite possible this is a defective item. I plan to contact Samsung and will update this post if indeed it is just a lemon.

So what devices work or don't work for you?

I use the LG HBS700...love these and they work very nice! The only downside is that they do not have noise cancellation when speaking on the phone and there is alot of background noise...

I would definitely say that is a defective unit. I use the Plantronics Backbeat 903+. Love them. Less than $50 at Amazon, but are $100 at Verizon. WELL WORTH the $50.

Jaybird JF3's are what I use. By far some of the best sounding BT headsets that I've used (did have S9 and S10 HD's, but very disappointed with their performance).
And for everyday use, I sport my Jawbone ICON.

Reporting back that the Samsung HM3700 is 100% compatible. My previous one was replaced and the new one is working just fine!

Very happy with this unit. It's small and lightweight, plus it comes with many ear hooks so finding the fit you need is easy.
With it being "convertible" I don't feel as if I have the bulk of usual stereo headsets when I just have the earpiece in. Yet I have the convenience of plugging stereo earbuds in so I can listen to music.

This is also the first bt headset i have owner that allows multiple device pairing at once. Being a person who carries 2 cell phones the multi pairing option is nice so I can have both phones connected without having to switch. In the past I would rely on answering the call and pairing the device afterwards... no more " can you hold while I get my Bluetooth setup?".

    Not bad for $27!

I have a Bose with noise cancellation. Works great and it's a Bose...can't go wrong there.
